If you are looking for PlayStation 3 Emulator then you are on the right place. RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator written in C++ programming language and development of this emulator began on 23rd May, 2011, RPCS3 was founded by programmers DH and Hykem, it is available for Linux and Windows released under license GNU General Public License Version 2 (June 1991). It currently supports modern Vulkan, Direct3D 12 and OpenGL graphic APIs. The emulator is capable of booting and playing hundreds of commercial games. With time more and more games are becoming closer and closer to either booting or full play-ability.
Initially it was able to successfully boot and run simple homebrew projects and later on that made public release of the emulator in June 2012. Today RPCS3 is dubbed one of the most complex video game console emulators of all time with an endless goal to effectively emulate the Sony PlayStation 3 and all of its aspects.

playstation 3 emulator

There are almost 2433 games currently compatible with this emulator and more work is going. You can checkout our list of compatible games here. The goal of the project is to create the most accurate PlayStation 3 emulator possible.
RPCS3 is stable enough to boot into games and play many of them with ease. Stability is more of a per-game factor that may change with new builds as new features get implemented. The RPCS3 emulator currently support keyboard / mouse inputs and native DualShock 4 controllers. As well as support XInput and MMjoy based controllers.

In the current state of the emulator, you can't run Play Station 3 game disc directly because PS3 discs are formatted in a very special way that can only be read with an actual Play Station 3 console. You can dump your own PlayStation 3 games and software from your own console. It is the most efficient and safest way to migrate your disc-based games and digital games from your console to your PC. For more information on migrating and install games check out this quick start guide.

Is Your Business Vulnerable to Cyberattack?

$
0
0
Up until recently, most people were relatively disinterested in the topic of cyber-security. Even many small business owners took little to no interest in their own security outside of basic protocols and policies. This was not necessarily because people did not care about their own security; most just felt as though they were too unimportant to be targeted and that hackers would be uninterested in average individuals or small businesses.

If you still believe that to be the case, you must have been living under a rock for the last year or so. Cyber attacks have increased in scale and sophistication, but they have also increased in frequency. The WannaCry ransomware event from earlier this year was the largest cyber attack in history, impacting over 200,000 devices in 150 countries including hospitals in the UK, a large telecom corporation in Spain, FedEx in the US and even the Russian government.

Recent Events

It seems as though cyber attacks occur every day, with a variety of targets ranging from governments to banks to entertainment companies. Most recently, the systems of HBO were infiltrated with hackers threatening to leak scripts for the upcoming programs. While we all hate having to wait another week to find out what happens next to Jon Snow, these attacks are only indicators of a larger problem. Not to mention that these are only the ones large enough to make national news.

Small Crime

Every day, thousands of businesses are at risk and vulnerable to cyber attacks, no matter their size, status or industry. Although traditional wisdom may tell you that the attackers would seek one large score from a major corporation, it’s actually not the case at all. The majority of modern cyber-criminals would prefer to extort or steal from several smaller companies with less security and higher rates of success.

Additionally, smaller companies may have less experience with these types of security risks and fewer resources to deal with them, and they are more likely to give into demands quickly. This also carries less risk for the criminals, as penalties, publicity and pursuit from authorities may not be as extreme with smaller attacks. Cyber-crime is not like bank robbery; criminals can gain access to just as much valuable information and extort as high of a ransom from a small company as they could from a large corporation.

Combating Attacks

Ransomware and other weapons of cyber-crime are becoming more complex and wide-spread every day. A criminal can now purchase the software necessary to extort money from a small business and download it directly from the internet, meaning that it does not take a brilliant hacker to infiltrate your systems.

Prevention will be the key to combating cyber-crime on a small business level. Every small business owner should educate him or herself about the basics of security including regular software updates, MFA authentication, data backups and similar elements. In addition, every business should have up-to-date policies in place and regular cyber-security training for all employees, even those who do not deal directly with sensitive information.

If your company has already been the victim of an attack, you should immediately contact your security specialists and the proper authorities. Criminals will almost certainly threaten to destroy or release your data if you do, but this could happen either way. Even if you give into attackers’ demands, there is no guarantee that you will get all of your information back whole, and there is nothing stopping them from making the very same attack again.

Unfortunately, most victims do not regain everything that was stolen, and preventing an attack can be much simpler, easier and more beneficial than fighting one after the fact.

Green Recorder is a simple, open source desktop recorder developed for Linux systems built using Python, GTK and FFmpeg. It supports most of the Linux desktop environments such as Unity, Gnome, Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce and so on. Recently it has been updated to work with Wayland too in Gnome session.
It uses FFmpeg libraries and currently supported formats are: MKV, MP4, AVI, WMV, NUT and WebM (it only available for Wayland in Gnome session). You can choose the area to record, or use handy option ' Select a Window' to record a specific window, if you don't use any of these option and simply hit 'Record' button then it will record full-screen of the desktop. You can stop the recording process easily by right-clicking the icon and choosing 'Stop Record'. Or middle-clicking the recording icon in the notifications area (but doesn't work on all interfaces). Show Mouse and Follow Mouse are great options to have, you can adjust them as per your needs.
It uses default audio device on your system, you can record audio using Microphone or completely disable mic using its option, you can also change audio input source. Advanced options allows you to set Frames, delay to record the screen, Audio input source, as well as lets you run the command after recording is stopped.
By default, On Wayland only, Green Recorder uses the V8 encoder instead of the default V9 encoder in GNOME Shell because of the CPU & RAM consumption issue with V9. Which - now - should also give you better performance. On Xorg, each format uses its own default encoder.

Power User Web Browser 'Vivaldi' Can Be Installed From Official Repository

Vivaldi is the new web browser compare to other famous browsers, the initial release of Vivaldi was in January, 2015. It has improved a lot and evolved since the first release. Basically it is based on the open-source frameworks of Chromium, Blink and Google's V8 JavaScript engine and has a lot of great feature which I will table later. It is known to be the most customizable browser for power users, debuts features that make browsing more personal than ever before.
Do we really need another browser? Since we already have a lot of them such as mostly used Firefox, Chrome, Opera and so on. The former CEO of Opera Software Jon Von Tetzchner didn't liked the direction of Opera Web Browser and said "Sadly, it is no longer serving its community of users and contributors - who helped build the browser in the first place." Then created a web browser which has to be fast, rich feature, highly flexible and puts the user first, so Vivaldi was born.

Recently Vivaldi reached to 1.10 version and brought some new features with it:
  • Sorting of Downloads in the Side Panel by name, size, date added and date finished, as well as manually.
  • Toggle image visibility from the View menu or via configurable keyboard shortcut.
  • Quick Commands improvements for users that like to control everything in their browser from the keyboard. The Quick Commands menu lets users navigate to tabs, find search terms, filter lists of available commands and much more.
  • Address Bar drop-down list can now exclude bookmarks and typed history.
  • Controlling new tabs via third-party extensions with additional functionality, such as productivity tools or reminders.

Nuvola Player runs a web-based interface of cloud music services in its own window and provides integration with a Linux desktop (multimedia keys, system tray, media player applets, dock menu, notifications and more) offers more native user experience and integration with Linux desktop environments than usual web browsers can offer. .Nuvola Player is an open-source project licensed under GNU GPL 3 and written mainly in Vala (the core) and JavaScript (service integrations). It tries to feel and look like a native application as possible. However, it cannot overcome common drawbacks of web-based music streaming: some music streaming services require Flash plugin and web apps usually have higher memory usage than native apps.
Nuvola Player 3 doesn't need any hacks to support Flash plugin, because it is built on top of WebKit2Gtk+, the second generation of this web rendering library. The major diference is that plugins are run in a separate GTK+ 2 compatible process, so there is no need to use nspluginwrapper and install 32bit libraries on 64bit system. There is also one extra benefit: If Flash plugin crashes, it doesn't take down whole Nuvola Player application.

New in this release:
  • A crash under Wayland session was fixed (GDK_BACKEND set to x11).
  • The accelerated compositing mode is disabled with WebKitGTK < 2.13.4 due to a WebKitGTK+ bug that may crash systems with certain graphic cards.
  • A non-functional local-storage-directory setting was removed as it produced a console warning.
  • The design of the Welcome screen was improved.
  • It is possible to disable media keys in the Preferences dialog.
  • A wrong implementation of the CanPlay and CanPause flags of the Media Player Remote Interface Specification (MPRIS) was fixed resolving issues with Unity Sound Indicator as a result.
  • Console warnings produced when notifications component were being disabled were fixed.
  • Initialization of the Web Worker process is more robust. Blank incompletely loaded and improperly initialized web pages should no longer occur.
  • Notifications API is no longer called if it is disabled as it is obviously not functional and produces only console warnings.

It lets you run PSP games on PC in full HD resolution but you may not get perfect results. It can even upscale textures that would otherwise be too blurry as they were made for the small screen of the original PSP.
It can run on low specification hardware, including ARM processors as long as there's support for OpenGL ES 2.0. It can run PSP ISO file from your PC, and also from PSP disk but you need to specify location of Game within PPSSPP.
It can save and restore game state anywhere, anytime; Continue where you left off by transferring saves from your real PSP; Crank up the anisotropic filtering and texture scaling.

Since its launch in 2008, Google Chrome has now become the most popular web browser, leaving the competition way behind. Google Chrome is available for various operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. Linux is the most popular open source operating system, used by millions worldwide. Aside from being open source software, Linux is also customizable, which means users can fit it for specific purposes.

Installing Chrome on Linux is not a direct process, but it is worth it. For one thing, Chrome is a very fast browser as compare to other browsers. It is also easy to access. Unlike in other operating systems, a straightforward installation of Google Chrome is not possible in Linux because it is not available via Software Manager in any Linux distribution, in order to install it you must download it from its official website. For example, if you wish to install Google Chrome in Ubuntu/Linux Mint, which are both most popular Linux distributions, you would have to open the terminal and run some specific commands one by one, or alternatively you can download deb file and double click to open it via installer.

Also Chromium is similar to Google Chrome but it is maintained by community, it is available in the Ubuntu respositories. Another advantage of Google Chrome/chromium is that they offer thousands of extensions. These cool and useful extensions can be installed on Chrome/Chromium.

Some of the most useful Chrome add-ons or extensions that can be added on Chrome/Chromium are the following:

Proxy Switchy Sharp!

This is an advanced proxy manager for Chrome. It is able to alter the configuration of Chrome as well as modify LAN and VPN/Dial-Up proxy settings. Proxy Switchy! is a Chrome extension that also supports Linux. It is an ideal add on for Linux users because many of them need the use of proxies. With Proxy Switchy!, you don’t need to manually change the configuration, all you need to do is to set up a list of proxies and select the proxy needed for a particular location. Another great thing for Proxy Switchy! users is that they are able to backup and restore their options.

Network and Internet Tools

Network and Internet Tools for Linux users is a very useful add-on, particularly because many Linux users are known to be avid network users. Hard-core network users usually do a lot of information gathering from websites. With only one click, the Network and Internet Tools extension for Linux allows the user to gather the following information:
  • Geo Location
  • DNS Lookup
  • DNS Blackhole List
  • Whois
  • IP Address
  • TCP Ping
  • Ping
  • Traceroute
  • Domain neighbors

Pop up blocker

Pop up blockers are essential and useful Chrome add-ons because they are able to block irritating pop ups, pop-unders, and overlays. In choosing a pop-up blocker, choose one that is available as a Google Chrome extension. Not all blockers are available as a Chrome extension. Choose a pop-up blocker that does not drain CPU memory, has unobtrusive notifications that inform you when a pop-up has been blocked and a block counter that shows blocked content history.

LastPass

LastPass is an essential Chrome extension that acts as a password manager. A password manager essentially saves your password and gives secure access from a computer or mobile device. It is a popular Chrome add-on because it is easy to use and provides utmost security.

Zoho Writer

Zoho Writer is a useful Chrome extension that allows the user to create, edit, and share documents. It is a free word processing app that has complete features and allows the user to write simple notes or do more complex work. Another great thing about Zoho Writer is that it also works even in offline mode.

Permanent Readability

Readability is a Chrome Add On that allows the user to read web pages or articles right in the browser, with useful features such as Read Now, Read Later, tag list, etc. It also syncs across computers and mobile preferences and can be configured to the user’s reading preferences.
